IMPORTANT NOTE
This article is not an official FIGU publication.

“Truly, it is not right to forbid opinion holders and religious believers, or believers in god, places in which they, individually or in groups can retreat or get together for the purpose of exchanging opinions, or for the religious reflection, because that does not correspond to freedom of opinion and freedom of belief. A different way of reflecting, striving and acting, which is directed against such places and their emblems, represents sheer sectarian and fanatical racism against religion and belief, as well as hatred of those who believe differently, and that is absolutely unacceptable in every form…”

What are five important aspects regarding Earth religions?

Source: Contact Report 031

  1. Religion is only a primitive machination by Man to command, suppress and exploit others, to which only life forms that are weak in their consciousness succumb.
  2. When Man indulges in his religions, i.e. malevolent, erroneous doctrines, his consciousness wastes away more and more and ultimately leads to a bottomless abyss.[1]
  3. Earth is the only planet within the Milky Way galaxy that has religions of our form. Our religions control people’s lives and the welfare of the whole planet retarding our world by thousands of years in spiritual development.[2]
  4. Every aspect of spiritual evolution is blocked by these religions, making any genuine progress impossible.[3]
  5. Our religions still contain some real worth, but this becomes so overshadowed that only a few people are able to see any effective truth in them.[4]

Why have we not yet destroyed ourselves like other star systems have done so because of religion?

From the FIGU Forum (Questions Answered by Billy):

Semjase said that the damage from the Christian religion had spread to other systems and galaxies and even caused their destruction. How is this possible when, as crazy as things are here, we haven't yet destroyed our own world over this, at least not to the extent she describes?

ANSWER: Hi Michael,

The other ones had more sophisticated weapons and technology to destroy themselves. We are still bound to our planet (luckily, in this respect). We are still in our baby shoes compared to them (in technical aspects).[5]

Billy:
"I know that very well, and in these falsified assertions, the boundless stupidity and lack of education of the scribes inevitably comes to full expression, for how else could they have written in their fantasy story that Ararat is the highest mountain in the world, and on the other hand, how, for example, could elephants as well as mammoths, which were still there at that time, rhinoceroses and all other 4-legged animals, etc. have climbed down from Ararat? I happen to know the mountain very well and know that even a good mountain climber has lots of distress and trouble when wanting to conquer the mountain.

Semjase:
275. Not all Earth human beings think logically and with a sharp mind.

276. Many also live in some belief of an unreal religion, which forbids them to reflect upon and investigate such matters.

277. On the other hand, you also have to consider that you have traveled very far, and you have considered everything very precisely.

278. As I know, you’ve traveled 43 countries of the Earth and have tirelessly been in investigations.

279. So you have - also with our assistance - experienced and found many more things than what the best archaeologists and other scientists of the Earth have ever managed to do.

280. Moreover, you’ve also traveled outer space and the DAL Universe with us and have seen various foreign worlds and other life forms.

Billy:
Maybe you’re right..."

UFO Religion

FIGU has been listed as a so-called 'UFO religion', however its classification, interest and category, doesn't proficiently match with these definitions:

UFO religion (Wikipedia)
"A UFO religion is any religion (FIGU isn't a religion) in which the existence of extraterrestrial (ET) entities operating unidentified flying objects (UFOs) is an element of belief (FIGU don't believe). Typically, adherents of such religions believe the ETs to be interested in the welfare of humanity which either already is, or eventually will become, part of a pre-existing ET civilisation (FIGU says evolution isn't guaranteed). Others may incorporate ETs into a more supernatural worldview (FIGU says there's no supernatural only natural) in which the UFO occupants are more akin to angels (FIGU says angels are fiction) than physical aliens (FIGU is against xenophobia); this distinction may be blurred within the overall subculture (With FIGU it's defined). These religions have their roots in the tropes of early science fiction (especially space opera) and weird fiction writings, in ufology, and in the subculture of UFO sightings and alien abduction stories (FIGU literature isn't about any of that)."

Another definition, which also lists FIGU:

List of UFO religions (Wikipedia)
"UFO religions are groups (FIGU is a group) which deal with alleged (FIGU offers proof) communication between humans and extraterrestrial beings."

The Talmud of Jmmanuel listed as a modern gospel:

List of Gospels - Modern gospels (Wikipedia)
"Modern gospels (FIGU says it was an archeological discovery, not modern)
Talmud Jmmanuel (1963; Another Gospel attributed to Judas Iscariot)"

Another definition:

UFO religions (Encylopedia.com)
The search for UFOs (FIGU interested persons have searched for UFOs) has become the center of a belief system (FIGU only has facts to consider) with most, if not all, of the features that are usually linked with religion. The phrase UFO Religions can thus be applied to those organisations that exhibit many of the various dimensions that have been routinely applied to other, more established, religious organisations.

While the precise definition of religion is still a matter of debate among scholars, there seems to be some agreement about those key features or characteristics that are a central tenet to any religious system. Among these are a communally shared belief system (FIGU interested persons rarely agree with eachother) or worldview (FIGU interested individuals are international, broad variety of worldviews) in which a sacred or transcendent reality figures prominently (FIGU says reality itself is the only real reality); a belief that the human race needs some kind of salvation or redemption (FIGU offers no salvation or redemption whatsoever) from its present condition; an ethical system; experiences such as devotion (FIGU says devotion should be silent to allow for focus), ecstasy (FIGU advises against ecstasy because it can be as harmful to the body as negativity), rebirth (FIGU says incarnation is a fact of life), and inner peace; central myths (FIGU distinguishes myths) or stories, especially those dealing with the creation (FIGU designates the creation a form of consciousness) and future of humankind (FIGU says evolution is real); and rituals (FIGU says magic doesn't exist, everything can be explained). Many of these features are also found in UFO religious groups, though not all have been accorded the central place given them in most of the world's religions. Several UFO groups are noted for forming well-knit communities with a mission to propagate (FIGU doesn't allow missionising and propaganda) the teachings (FIGU does offer 'teachings') of their faith (FIGU isn't a faith). Others stress individual spiritual development (FIGU says spiritual development is more about evolution) and/or healing (FIGU says healing is more an individual thing and a consciousness matter). Still others, while having some of the main features of religion, are mail-order organizations (FIGU interest is more an internet thing) and thus lack the communal and ritual aspects typical of some UFO religions.
