I don't think it would be so bad to be without power for a couple days or weeks. I just want my fridge to be in order.:) Everything else goes fine with me, maybe the internet is all that is necessary for updates. I think we should develop some primitive way of generating power like bike peddling power. I wonder if there is such a scenario planned out by our governments so people will be prepared for no power. I think my area has a backup power supply, but if that get's taken out as well. I guess I'll be roasting marshmallows.

spare a thought for many patients in the hospital requiring urgent medical care due to life threatening illness of some kind. I'd hate to be in their position come the massive power outage in 2012. We've witnessed just how much damage was caused by the New York power outage back several years ago. The whole city was a mess and ground to a halt. Crime was rampant and people have died that day. It was a great litmus test for what we can expect come 2012. Preparing now is a good idea Grow your own food if you can Stock your pantries with extra dried food stuff and long life foods such as canned foods. Buy extra batteries and candles. Install solar and wind powered systems in your homes if you can. Install water tanks and water filtration system if you can afford it. Build a bunker if you can like from that movie 'ROAD' If you have some parcel of land have some chicken, guinea pigs, pigs and other livestocks. Purchase some weapons like guns for self protection just in case. Get of the rid if you can. Become as self independent as much as it is possible without needing to depend for food from grocery stores. Being prepared for disasters nowadays is so important and those giving advice should also think of the possibility that it'll become a self fulfilling possibility for them one day. So be prepared.
